Dmx Slapped With Lawsuit Over Mixed Martial Arts Bout

Rapper DMX has been slapped with a breach-of-contract lawsuit by the promoters of the Alabama mixed martial arts match he was supposed to appear in next month. On Friday (November 20th) Thunder Promotions filed suit against the rapper aka Earl Simmons in Birmingham County Court.

Thunder Promotions claims that DMX's cancellation has caused them to lose hundreds and thousands of dollars. The suit asks for $1 million dollars in damages.

DMX had bragged to radio that he had no plans to train for the celebrity match. When he learned that the fight was not going to be rigged in his favor, he bowed out.

Coolio has now been tapped to face off against MMA fighter Eric Martinez in the December 12th match at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama.

DMX has other problems as well. It was recently reported that the star owes the IRS $1.5 million in back taxes.
